In the 1980s at 17 years-old, co-founder and father Jose first arrived in Sonoma County after being born and raised in rural Michoacán, Mexico. Here, he worked in vineyards and nurseries before getting into welding which he still does now. By the the late 90s he had settled a family here with his childhood sweetheart Maricela who herself went on to gain 20 years of nursery experience before they both started growing plants of their own following the covid pandemic. When nursery garden grew to a significant size, son Kevin joined with computer and graphic design background to professionalize Hidden Garden.
